  • PHOTOGRAPHIC EMULSIONS

Go beyond digital. For versatility and archival permanence, nothing equals silver-gelatin photographic emulsion. It is both a tie to photographic history, and also a way to print on complex shapes and materials that digital photography cannot do, like wood (above), paper, metal, glass, ceramics, plastics-- or anything from a wall to a walnut. Liquid Light all-purpose emulsion and Ag-Plus emulsion have been the world's standard for over 30 years.

    ROOM LIGHT PROCESSES

    Ceramics:

Pyrofoto is an exclusive brush-on sensitizer that lets you kiln-fire photographic images onto ceramics and glass using your own liquid glazes.

    Printmaking:

Make prints on wood, metal, glass or plastics in brilliant permanent colors with SelectaColor.

    REAL TINTYPES

There's a special appeal to authentic American tintypes, an original art form. With the Tintype Parlor you can make authentic dry-plate tintypes and ambrotypes with your camera. (Tintype supplies can also be ordered in bulk quantities.)

    PHOTOGRAPHIC TONERS

For photographic paper and Liquid Light prints, Polytoner tones black&white prints not just a single color but any color. Printint makes pastel-tinted papers from black&white prints. Halo-Chrome tones paper prints pure metallic silver.

    CLASSIC PROCESSES

These processes bring back the unique appearance of heirloom prints. With FA-1 Sensitizer you can re-create authentic Van Dykes, Argyrotypes and Kallitypes. (You can also use FA-1 in a contemporary way to print photos on t-shirts.) Authentic blueprints, also called cyanotypes, are easy to make with our Blueprint kit.

    PHOTO-SILKSCREENS

Printscreen is our liquid photo-resist emulsion for making high-resolution photo-stencils on natural silk and synthetic fabrics.

    DIGITAL IMAGING

These are techniques that can be used together with inkjet printers or photo-copiers, including transparency film and special papers.

    PROCESSING AIDS

For darkroom and room-light processes, we carry a limited selection of "must-have" items.
